PHOENIX FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES
A24’s “EIGHTH GRADE” AS CLOSING NIGHT FILM
Writer/Director Bo Burnham will be in attendance
PHOENIX, AZ – Tuesday, March 27 – The Phoenix Film Festival is excited to announce the Closing Night film as A24’s “Eighth Grade”, recently featured as part of the U.S. Dramatic Competition section of the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and is currently 100% Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes.
“Eighth Grade” stars Elsie Fisher, Josh Hamilton, Emily Robinson, Jake Ryan and is written and directed by Bo Burnham.
Bo Burnham is also a comedian and actor, seen in 2017’s “The Big Sick” and star of 2013’s MTV series, “Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous”. Thirteen-year-old Kayla endures the tidal wave of contemporary suburban adolescence as she makes her way through the last week of middle school—the end of her thus far disastrous eighth-grade year—before she begins high school.

The 18th Annual Phoenix Film Festival will take place from Thursday, April 5 to Sunday, April 15.
