Some say that imitation is the highest form of flattery, but if you are a teenage girl or Stephenie Meyer, this could be trouble.

Vampires as of the past few years have been all the craze. From the wildly popular Twilight series to True Blood to The Vampire Diaries, no one is safe in Vampires Suck.

On this twisted alternate reality, Vampires Suck is a mash-up of the first 2 books/films in the Twilight Saga. To protect all parties, names has been (slightly) altered and important people have been left as is. Becca Crane (Jenn Proske) is the new girls in Sporks, Washington. For fans of the books, do you kinda get where this is going? Her father is the town’s sheriff and his name is Frank Crane (Diedrich Bader). She gets a present from her dad – a rusty orange old pick up truck fixed up by none other than res hottie, Jacob White (Chris Riggi).

When Becca gets to school, she notices that there is something off. She is intrigued & lusts after Sporks High resident hunk Edward Sullen (Matt Lanter). She is then sucked into a world where there is no such thing as reality as her reality no includes the monsters that are only alive in fairy tales – vampires and werewolves. As Becca and Edward build an explore their relationship, they are faces with trial after absurd trial where it all comes to a head at their high school prom themed St. Salvador Day Festival.

If you are a fan of the Twilight Saga series (as am I) and don’t take the whole Robert Pattinson/Taylor Lautner things seriously, this movie is freaking hysterical. No one in pop culture is safe as this movie lampoons everyone from The Jersey Shore to Tiger Woods, Lindsey Lohan, Taylor Swift, the Kardashians sisters and much, much, much more. This movie is so dumb, it’s brilliant. It takes what everyone hypes up and loves about the movies and exposes it for what the hype is. Not to discount Stephenie Meyer’s superb writing skills and the delicious fantasy-esq world of Twilight, but Catherine Hardwicke, in my opinion, ruined the books by the first film and this film blows that up in your face. Now the actress that plays Becca (Jenn Proske) would have made an excellent Bella instead of what is now Kristin Stewart playing Kristen Stewart as Bella. Proske mimics Stewart’s portrayal in Twilight perfectly, making this much more enjoyable to watch.

Things to watch for:
So many in your face off comments and jokes; how man pop culture references can you find?

Who should see this movie:
Fans of Twilight; the people that get dragged to go see the Twilight films; Fans of the cast of Twilight- Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Green

See it in the Theater or Rent it on DVD: For a rip roaring good time, see this one in the theater.
